<p><b>Nico 0.0.1.</b> This is the build with the subscription in it — plus four fixes that had nothing to do with the subscription and were found because the work went past them.</p><h2>You can pay for it now, and there is still nothing to sign into</h2><p>A licence key arrives by email and you paste it into the new <b>Status</b> screen. No account, no password, no sign-in. The check happens on your own Mac, so Nico keeps working on a plane, behind a hotel portal, or with the network switched off entirely.</p><p>About once a month, as a period comes to an end, Nico asks our server for a fresh licence. That request carries your key and a machine fingerprint and nothing else — no files, no voice, no transcripts. A subscriber with three weeks left makes no requests at all.</p><p>The Status screen also tells you <i>which</i> of four things "expired" means, because they have four different fixes. A card that failed says so. A Mac that simply has not been online in a while is told <i>your subscription is fine</i> rather than that it has ended. And <b>Refresh licence</b> is there in every state, so the answer to "it says expired and I have definitely paid" is a click rather than a reinstall.</p><p>The seven-day trial is unchanged, and still starts at your first recording rather than at the download. When it ends, only <i>new</i> recording pauses: anything already running finishes, and everything already transcribed stays yours and exportable.</p><h2>App builds no longer die at two minutes</h2><p>The longest job in the product had one of the shortest time limits in it. Two real app builds were run to check: both produced a working app, and both were killed before they could hand it over.</p><p>That ceiling is now four hours, with an <b>elapsed clock</b> while it runs, a <b>Stop</b> that genuinely stops the whole thing rather than leaving pieces behind, and your prompt readable and editable before you ask again.</p><h2>Local models get the time they need</h2><p>Measured on this Mac: a local model took <b>206 seconds just to produce its first word</b> against a long transcript. The time limit was 120 seconds. So every local model was being killed a minute and a half before it said anything at all, which from the outside read as "Ollama does not work".</p><p>A local model now gets fifteen minutes. If you have been avoiding Ollama, this is the release to try it again on.</p><h2>Codex answers on the card</h2><p>Asking Codex something with no tools switched on used to open a terminal that was not allowed to do anything in it. The answer now comes back on the card, where it belongs, and a terminal appears only when something is genuinely allowed to run.</p><h2>Pinned sessions, not cockpits</h2><p>There were two words for one thing, and one of them has gone. <b>A pinned session is a session you kept</b> — that is the whole of it. The card in front of you, with its panes, is still the cockpit.</p><p>A side effect worth having: the same app can no longer turn up twice in one session, so there is one fewer refusal to explain.</p><h2>The website stopped talking to anybody</h2><p>The pages were loading their typefaces from Google, which handed every visitor's IP address to Google before anybody had been asked anything — and it set no cookie, so no banner could have fixed it. The fonts are now served from our own origin, the analytics are gone, and with no non-essential storage left there is nothing to consent to, so the cookie banner went too.</p><p><b>The website now runs no JavaScript at all and makes no third-party request of any kind.</b> A test holds it to that by recording the actual network traffic rather than reading the page, because a script you cannot see still fetches.</p>
